Sun City Oro Valley is an active-adult community of more than 2,500 homes — and like most of Rancho Vistoso, it has no walk-in clinic inside the gates. When a fall, a bladder infection, a chest cold that won't clear, or a medication running out can't wait weeks for a primary care appointment, Sanova Urgent Care is 12 minutes away on Oracle Road: physician-led, Medicare accepted, with digital X-ray and lab testing on site so you're diagnosed and treated in one visit.
We accept Medicare and all Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare supplement (Medigap) plans, Tricare and Tricare For Life, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Humana and most major PPO and HMO plans. Winter visitors' out-of-state plans are fine. Your visit is billed as an urgent care visit — a much smaller share of cost than an emergency room — and self-pay prices are posted for anyone between plans.
Many of our Sun City patients take five or more medications. Our providers check interactions before prescribing, review blood pressure and blood sugar trends when they're relevant, and screen for dehydration, low oxygen and the subtle signs of infection in older adults that get missed in a rushed visit. Sanova's medical director is Dr. Kiyan Rad, DO, an internal medicine physician with two board certifications. Meet the providers.

Yes. We accept Medicare and all Medicare Advantage plans, along with Medicare supplement plans, Tricare and Tricare For Life, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Humana and most major PPO and HMO plans. Winter residents’ out-of-state plans work here too. Call (520) 232-2525 if you’d like us to confirm your plan first.
With Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan, an urgent care visit is billed at your plan’s urgent care rate — typically a fraction of an emergency room visit. Our typical wait time to see a medical provider is less than 15 minutes, though actual wait times may vary depending on patient volume and medical needs. X-ray and labs are done on site during the same visit, spouses can be seen together, and while you wait the lobby has a TV, complimentary cold bottled water and a coffee bar.
Yes. Falls are one of the most common reasons Sun City residents walk in. We X-ray wrists, ankles, shoulders and ribs right in the clinic, read the images the same visit, and splint sprains and stable fractures on site. If you can’t bear weight, or have hip, groin or back pain after a fall, go to the ER — a suspected hip, pelvic or spine fracture needs hospital imaging. We also check for the head injury, dizziness or medication issue behind the fall.
Yes. Bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma and COPD flare-ups, and the lingering cough that turns out to be Valley Fever are evaluated with chest X-ray, oxygen checks, breathing treatments and lab work — all on site — and we can start steroids, inhalers or antibiotics the same day.
Yes. We’re open Saturday 7am to 7pm, the same as weekdays, with no appointment needed. We’re closed Sundays.
Yes. The entrance is ground-level with no stairs, accessible parking is at the front door, and if you need a hand getting inside, call (520) 232-2525 when you pull up and a staff member will come out to you.
Yes, all Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplements. Bring both cards, because the Advantage or supplement card is what determines your copay.
Absolutely. Every winter many of our patients are seasonal Sun City residents, and none of them need to register with us ahead of time. Just walk in with an ID and your insurance card; Medicare and plans from other states work here. If you want your doctor back home kept in the loop, we’ll forward a copy of your visit notes.
Come in or start a telehealth visit. Our providers can refill the medications you take every day, such as blood pressure pills, insulin and other diabetes medicines, thyroid and cholesterol drugs, inhalers, birth control, and anxiety or depression medications, and send the prescription straight to your pharmacy. Opioid pain medications are not prescribed or refilled.
Yes. A urinalysis is done right in the clinic so treatment can begin before you leave, and a culture goes to the lab when it’s needed. With Sun City patients we also watch for new confusion, unusual weakness or fever, which can mean the infection has spread, and we check that any antibiotic is safe with your other medications.
Yes. Fragile-skin tears, cuts that need stitches or skin glue, and slow-healing or infected wounds are treated every day here, with a tetanus status check when needed. If a wound needs a follow-up check, you can walk back in — no appointment.
