Dr. Kiyan Rad, DO

Dr. Kiyan Rad, DO, is a board-certified internal medicine physician and Medical Director of Sanova Urgent Care in Catalina, caring for patients from Oro Valley, SaddleBrooke and north Tucson. He is also board certified in obesity medicine.

Dr. Rad earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. He holds a B.A. in Biology, magna cum laude, from Oakland University.

He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, where he lectures resident physicians at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. From 2023 to 2025 he served as Chief of Medicine at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, where he was also Associate Chief Hospitalist, chaired the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and served on the Medical Executive and Credentialing Committees.

Dr. Rad currently serves as President of the Medical Executive Committee at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northwest Tucson, Quality Director and Medical Executive Committee member at Vista Specialty Hospital, and Medical Director of the skilled nursing facility and residential substance use disorder rehabilitation program at Villa Maria in Tucson. He is also an admitting attending at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital and Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital, and he cares for patients across Tucson-area skilled nursing, long-term acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and assisted living facilities. His experience also includes serving as Medical Director of Haven Hospice of Tucson and as an internal medicine attending at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System and McLaren Greater Lansing.
