Why It's Worth the Drive

Urgent Care Oracle and the San Pedro Valley Can Count On, in One Stop

Living in Oracle, San Manuel, Mammoth or the Copper Corridor usually means a drive for anything beyond basic care. Sanova is set up so that one trip handles it: a physician-led team, digital X-ray read during your visit, an on-site lab with walk-in blood draws, and treatments that are normally a hospital trip — IV fluids, nebulizer breathing treatments, injectable migraine medication, stitches, splints and walking boots. Everything happens in one visit, so you are not sent somewhere else for imaging or labs.

Live in Mammoth, Winkelman or Hayden and not sure you need to come in? Start with a same-day video visit. If you need an X-ray, a test or a hands-on exam, the provider will tell you before you drive — and if you don't, you're done without leaving home.

When to Call 911 Instead of Driving to Us

With a 30- to 50-minute drive from most of the San Pedro Valley, some problems can't wait for urgent care — and the safest thing you can do is stay put and call 911. Do not drive to Sanova for:

Chest pain or pressure

Especially with sweating, shortness of breath, nausea, or pain spreading to the arm, neck, jaw or back.

Stroke signs — BE FAST

Balance loss, Eyesight changes, Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech that's slurred or confused — Time to call 911. Note when symptoms started.

Severe trouble breathing

Can't speak in full sentences, blue or gray lips, or an asthma/COPD flare that isn't responding to a rescue inhaler.

Major trauma

Serious car, ATV or motorcycle crashes, falls from height, head injury with confusion or vomiting, bleeding that won't stop with pressure, or a limb that's obviously deformed.

Rattlesnake bites & severe reactions

Any rattlesnake bite; throat swelling or hives with trouble breathing; seizures; fainting that doesn't clear; anyone who is unresponsive.

Heat stroke

Confusion, hot dry or flushed skin, vomiting, or collapse after time in the heat. Move to shade, cool the person, and call 911.

Your local first responders — the Oracle Fire District, San Manuel Fire District, Mammoth Fire & Medical District, and the Hayden and Winkelman fire departments — will respond and get you to the nearest emergency room. For poisonings, medication mix-ups and venomous stings, the Arizona Poison & Drug Information Center is available 24/7 at 1-800-222-1222.

Everything short of that is exactly what we're here for. Sprains and possible fractures, cuts that need stitches, infections, fevers, breathing that's uncomfortable but not severe, minor burns, stings and bites, stomach bugs and dehydration. If you're not sure, call us at (520) 232-2525 or start a video visit and let a provider help you decide.

FAQ

Questions We Hear from Oracle, San Manuel & Mammoth

Everything you need to know before you make the drive down Hwy 77.

How far is Sanova Urgent Care from Oracle, San Manuel and Mammoth?

About 18 minutes (16 miles) from the town of Oracle, AZ, and about 30 minutes (27–28 miles) from San Manuel and Mammoth, all via AZ-77 south. Winkelman is about 49 minutes and Hayden about 52 minutes. Sanova is at 15883 N Oracle Rd, Ste 101, in Catalina, on the west side of Oracle Road (Hwy 77), next to McDonald's, in front of Carlota's Authentic Mexican, and across from Tractor Supply. See directions from each town.

How long will I wait once I arrive from Oracle, San Manuel or Mammoth?

Our typical wait time to see a medical provider is less than 15 minutes. We strive to provide prompt, thorough medical care without making patients feel rushed. While you wait, enjoy our comfortable lobby featuring a TV, complimentary cold bottled water, and a coffee bar. Actual wait times may vary depending on patient volume and medical needs.

Do I need an appointment or a referral?

No. Sanova is a walk-in clinic, open Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM, and closed Sunday. No referral is needed. Pre-registering online before you leave home shortens check-in when you arrive. You are seen in order of arrival.

Can I do a video visit first so I don't drive 30 minutes for nothing?

Yes. Sanova offers same-day telehealth video visits. A provider can evaluate rashes, colds and flu symptoms, sinus and ear complaints, UTI symptoms, medication questions and more from your phone. If you need an X-ray, a test or a hands-on exam, you'll be told during the video visit so you can decide about the drive before you make it.

Can you do X-rays and blood work the same day, or will I be sent to Tucson?

Digital X-ray is done and read during your visit for ankles, wrists, hands, feet, knees, shoulders, hips, ribs, spine and chest, with splinting and walking boots on site. Our lab runs common tests during the visit, and a walk-in phlebotomist draws blood for send-out labs, so you don't need a separate trip to a Tucson lab. Send-out results are reported by phone or patient portal.

Do you take AHCCCS, Arizona Complete Health, Medicare and Tricare?

Yes. Sanova accepts Medicare (including all Medicare Advantage plans), AHCCCS plans including Arizona Complete Health, Mercy Care and Banner Health Net, Tricare, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Ambetter and more. Bring your photo ID and insurance card and we'll verify your plan at check-in. See the full list.

How much does a visit cost if I don't have insurance?

Self-pay prices are published up front: a standard urgent care visit is $140, a digital X-ray is $75 per study, a sports or school physical is $45, and rapid flu, strep or COVID tests are $35–$50. There is no hospital facility fee and no surprise bill. Cash, cards, HSA and FSA are accepted. See self-pay prices.

Do you see children?

Yes. Sanova provides pediatric urgent care for fevers, ear and throat infections, coughs and wheezing, stomach bugs, rashes, cuts, sprains and sports injuries, and school and sports physicals. Bring your child's insurance card and, if a school form is needed, the form itself.

Do you do DOT physicals?

No. Sanova does not perform DOT/CDL physicals. For employers and new hires we do offer occupational medicine services: pre-employment physicals, 5-, 10- and 12-panel drug screens, TB tests and titers, and employment-required vaccinations.

My regular doctor is booked out. Can Sanova refill a prescription?

Usually, yes. Our providers can bridge routine maintenance medications such as blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid and diabetes medicines and inhalers after a visit. We do not prescribe controlled substances. Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose, including pharmacies closer to home.

Can you treat scorpion stings, spider bites and other desert injuries?

Most scorpion stings, spider and insect bites, cactus injuries and minor burns can be evaluated and treated at Sanova. Rattlesnake bites are always an emergency: call 911. Severe symptoms after a scorpion sting, such as trouble breathing, uncontrolled muscle jerking or drooling, especially in a small child, are also emergencies; call 911 or the Arizona Poison & Drug Information Center at 1-800-222-1222.

Can I get a sports or school physical for my student?

Yes. Sports and school physicals are done on a walk-in basis for $45. Bring the school or district form, and if your student has a chronic condition, a list of medications.
