Urgent Care Near Oro Valley: What to Expect

Oro Valley has grown fast, and the wait to see a primary care doctor has grown with it. When your child spikes a fever on a Saturday, you roll an ankle on the Honeybee Canyon trail, or a UTI flares the night before a flight, you need a walk-in clinic that can diagnose and treat you in one visit — without the ER's four-hour wait or four-figure bill. Sanova Urgent Care was built for exactly that, a few minutes up Oracle Road from Rancho Vistoso, Sun City Oro Valley, Steam Pump Village and the Tangerine corridor.

Same-day illness care

Colds, flu, COVID and strep with rapid on-site tests; sinus, ear and eye infections; UTIs; stomach bugs, nausea and dehydration; asthma and COPD flare-ups; rashes, bites and stings; migraines.

Injuries with X-ray on site

Sprains, strains and suspected fractures from pickleball, cycling on the Loop, youth soccer at Naranja Park or a fall at home — imaged, read and splinted in the same visit. Cuts that need stitches or skin glue. Back, neck and knee pain.

Physicals, tests and screenings

Sports and school physicals for Ironwood Ridge, Canyon del Oro and BASIS Oro Valley athletes; drug testing and pre-employment screening for local employers; STI testing; blood panels and urine tests with fast turnaround.

Refills, IV fluids and more

Bridge prescription refills when you can't reach your PCP (no controlled substances); walk-in IV hydration for heat, hiking and hangovers; pediatric urgent care for the whole family.

Insurance and costs for Oro Valley patients

We accept Medicare and all Medicare Advantage plans — important for Sun City Oro Valley and our many retirees — plus Tricare, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, AHCCCS and most major PPO and HMO plans. An urgent care visit is typically billed at your plan's urgent care copay, usually a small fraction of an ER copay. No insurance? Our self-pay prices are posted so you know the cost before you're seen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your visit. Can’t find your answer? Call us at (520) 232-2525.

What can Sanova treat that I might otherwise sit in an ER for?

Most of what fills an ER waiting room: infections and fevers, cuts that need stitches, sprains and suspected simple fractures (X-ray on site), dehydration needing IV fluids, rashes, UTIs, migraines, asthma flare-ups and stomach bugs. We treat these the same day, at a fraction of an ER bill. Only true life-threatening emergencies — chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding or trouble breathing — belong in the ER.

Our typical wait time to see a medical provider is less than 15 minutes. We strive to provide prompt, thorough medical care without making patients feel rushed. While you wait, enjoy our comfortable lobby featuring a TV, complimentary cold bottled water, and a coffee bar. Actual wait times may vary depending on patient volume and medical needs.

Urgent cares, ours included, aren’t open around the clock; that is what emergency rooms are for. We open at 7 AM six days a week, which covers the early-morning gap most clinics leave, and we are open until 7 PM including Saturday. If something can wait until morning, pre-register online tonight and walk in when we open.

In most cases, yes. If you’re low on a routine maintenance medication — blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid, diabetes, asthma inhalers and similar — our providers can evaluate you and write a bridge refill to carry you until your PCP appointment. We do not refill controlled substances.

Yes. IV hydration is available on a walk-in basis for dehydration from heat, hiking Catalina State Park or the Tortolitas, stomach bugs, migraines and travel. Our providers evaluate you first, and IV fluids start at $90.

Yes. We accept Medicare and all Medicare Advantage plans, Tricare, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, AHCCCS and most major PPO and HMO plans. If you’re uninsured or between plans, we post transparent self-pay prices so you know the cost up front.

Yes. AHCCCS, including Arizona Complete Health, Mercy Care and Banner Health Net, is accepted, along with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Tricare and most major plans. Call (520) 232-2525 if you want your specific plan verified first.

Absolutely. You don’t need to be an established patient or have a referral. Bring a photo ID and your insurance card — out-of-state plans and Medicare are fine — and walk in. We’ll send a visit summary to your home doctor if you’d like.

Not in the town center — we’re a few minutes north of it. Sanova Urgent Care is at 15883 N Oracle Rd, Ste 101 (85739), on the west side of Oracle Road just north of the Oro Valley town limits, next to McDonald’s, in front of Carlota’s Authentic Mexican, and across from Tractor Supply. From most Oro Valley neighborhoods it’s a 10 to 15 minute drive with no highway.

Take Oracle Road north past Tangerine Road and continue about 4 miles; we’re on the left (west side) shortly after the Golder Ranch Drive light, next to McDonald’s. From Rancho Vistoso, take Rancho Vistoso Boulevard to Oracle and turn left (north). From the La Cañada / Naranja side, take Tangerine east to Oracle, then north.

Four reasons patients give us: we are independent, so there is no hospital facility fee; X-ray, labs and blood draws are done here rather than sent out; self-pay prices are published before you walk in; and you are seen by a small team you will recognize next time. From Tangerine and Oracle it is about 5 minutes north with no highway.
