SaddleBrooke Guide

Urgent Care for SaddleBrooke Residents: Close, Quick and Built for an Active 55+ Community

SaddleBrooke is one of the most active retirement communities in Arizona — golf, tennis, pickleball, hiking the Catalinas, cycling the Oracle corridor — and that activity brings the injuries and illnesses that shouldn't wait for a primary care appointment two weeks out. Sanova Urgent Care sits five minutes south of the SaddleBrooke gate on Oracle Road, with a physician-led team, on-site X-ray and lab testing, and Medicare accepted. No drive into Oro Valley or Tucson, no appointment.

What SaddleBrooke patients come in for most

Medicare, Tricare and winter-visitor insurance

We accept Medicare and all Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare supplements, Tricare (including Tricare For Life), UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Humana and most major PPO and HMO plans. Out-of-state plans from winter residents are fine. Your visit is billed as an urgent care visit — typically a much smaller copay than an emergency room — and we post self-pay prices for anyone between plans.

Easy access, by design

Ground-level entrance with no stairs, accessible parking at the front door, and staff who will come out to your car if you need help getting in — just call (520) 232-2525 when you arrive. X-ray and labs are done on site during the same visit, and spouses can be seen together.

Why SaddleBrooke families choose a physician-led clinic close to home

Our Medical Director, Dr. Kiyan Rad, DO, is a double board-certified internal medicine physician who sets the protocols our nurse practitioners follow — which matters when the patient is 78, on six medications and presenting with something that could be simple or could be serious. We check the things that get missed in a rushed visit: blood pressure trends, medication interactions, oxygen levels, signs of dehydration, and whether a "minor" fall needs an X-ray. Meet the providers.

When a problem truly needs a hospital — chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding or trouble breathing — we'll say so and help you get there. Everything else, we handle here. How do I get to Sanova from SaddleBrooke?

Head south on Oracle Road from either SaddleBrooke gate. We’re about 5 minutes from the SaddleBrooke One entrance and about 8 minutes from SaddleBrooke Ranch, on the right (west side) at 15883 N Oracle Rd, Ste 101 — next to McDonald’s, in front of Carlota’s Authentic Mexican, and across from Tractor Supply. Free parking is at the front door and the entrance is ground-level with no stairs.

Yes. Sanova is a walk-in clinic — no appointment, no referral and no need to be an established patient. We’re open Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm. If you’d like to shorten check-in, pre-register online before you leave home.

Our typical wait time to see a medical provider is less than 15 minutes, though actual wait times may vary depending on patient volume and medical needs. X-ray and labs are done on site during the same visit, and yes — spouses can be seen back-to-back in the same trip. While you wait, the lobby has a TV, complimentary cold bottled water and a coffee bar.

Yes. We accept Medicare and all Medicare Advantage plans, along with Medicare supplement plans, Tricare, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Humana and most major PPO and HMO plans. If you’re a winter resident, your home-state plan works here too. Call (520) 232-2525 if you’d like us to confirm your plan before you come in.

Yes. Digital X-ray for ankles, wrists, hands, feet, knees, shoulders, hips, ribs, spine and chest is done in the clinic and read the same visit. We splint sprains and stable fractures on site, so a golf-cart tip, a pickleball fall or a stumble on the patio doesn’t mean a trip into Tucson.

Yes. Our providers evaluate new or worsening headaches and migraines, rule out the serious causes, and treat with IV or injectable medications and IV fluids when appropriate — often with relief before you leave. We also help when your usual migraine medication isn’t working or has run out.

Yes. We’re open Saturday 7am to 7pm, the same as weekdays. We’re closed Sundays.

No. Medicare and most Advantage plans are accepted, and the visit is billed as an urgent care visit, not an emergency department visit, so your usual outpatient cost-sharing applies and there is no hospital facility fee.

If our provider decides you need an emergency department, we say so plainly and help you get there. We are not owned by a hospital, so that recommendation is about your condition, not a referral pattern.

Yes. It’s quick and easy to pre-register online, and the drive from SaddleBrooke is about five to eight minutes, so your paperwork is finished before you park.

Yes — snowbirds are a big part of our practice from November through April. You don’t need to be an established patient. Bring a photo ID and your insurance card (out-of-state plans and Medicare are fine) and walk in. We’ll send a visit summary to your doctor back home if you’d like.

In most cases, yes. If you’re low on a routine maintenance medication — blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid, diabetes, asthma or COPD inhalers and similar — our providers can evaluate you and write a bridge refill to carry you until you can see your regular doctor. We do not refill controlled substances.

Yes. Urinary symptoms are one of the most common reasons SaddleBrooke residents walk in. We run a urine test on site, start treatment the same visit, and can send a culture when needed. For older adults, we also check for the confusion, weakness or fever that can signal a more serious infection.

We see a lot of respiratory illness from SaddleBrooke — bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma and COPD flare-ups, and the lingering cough that turns out to be Valley Fever. Chest X-ray, oxygen checks, breathing treatments and lab work are all done on site, and we can start steroids, inhalers or antibiotics the same day.

Yes. Falls, lacerations and fragile-skin tears are treated every day here — X-ray to rule out a fracture, stitches, skin glue or steri-strips for cuts, and a tetanus status check when needed. If a wound isn’t healing or looks infected, we can evaluate and treat that as well.
